In 2005,
Moueix family acquired Château La Providence which has a much more clayey soil and located between Château Hosanna and Château Lafleur. This wine had been released as "Providence" between 2005 and 2012, and finally the vineyard was merged to La Fleur Petrus. Therefore La Fleur Petrus has been expanded to 18.7ha today and producing much concentrate and powerful wine as a result of integration of new parcel from Providence.

WS95

Beautiful aromas of crushed berry, chocolate and licorice, with hints of toasty oak, follow through to a full-bodied palate, with velvety tannins and a rich, wonderful finish. This is generous and balanced. (WineSpectator)

RP93+

A dark, almost primordial style of Pomerol, the 2005 Providence has notes of new saddle leather, licorice, truffle, loamy soil, forest floor and earth, with plenty of rich blackcurrant and black cherry fruit behind all of these nuances. It is a big, masculine, full-bodied, intense Pomerol to cellar for another 4-5 years, and drink over the following two decades.

RP90

Christian Moueix’s new Pomerol baby, the 2005 La Providence reveals a saturated dark ruby color, beautiful aromas of damp earth, subtle smoke, herb-infused black cherries and raspberries, and a sandy, loamy soil character. Deep, powerful tannins complement the wine’s wealth of fruit and broad mouthfeel. Kudos to Moueix for taking a relatively obscure estate with a top-notch terroir to new heights of quality.

RP90-92

A new project (and estate) for Christian Moueix, the powerful, deep ruby/purple-colored 2005 (90% Merlot) is the first real evidence of his enormous talents as a viticulturist and winemaker. Boasting a beautiful nose of black raspberries, sweet cherries, licorice, smoke, and earth, it is a deep, powerful, full-bodied Pomerol with considerable muscle, structure, and depth. It begs for 5-7 years of bottle age, and should keep for two decades or more.
