L'Intrus(=intruder in English) is a adventure of Chantereves that producing wine in Savigny les Beaune using grapes from other region. This new concept is being actualized by their sophisticated skills of vigneron with a free mind. Made from Cotes du Rhone Syrah, vinified and bottled in Savigny les beaune. Whole bunch, fermented by indigenous yeasts. No SO2 added at all. No fining, No filtration. This new concept is being actualized by their sophisticated skills of vigneron with a free mind. Made from Mosel Riesling, vinified and bottled in Savigny les beaune. Whole bunch, fermented by indigenous yeasts. No SO2 added during vinification. Sur Lie. A discreet application of wood sets off ultra-fresh, cool and admirably pure aromas of red cherry and red pinot fruit that are trimmed in soft floral nuances. The mouth feel of the middle weight flavors is not as refined but there is first-rate volume and concentration in the context of what is typical for the genre. This is an outstanding Bourgogne and highly recommended.

Grapes are from the parcels in Puligny Montrachet and near Volnay and Pommard. Age of vine is 55 years old. Frederic Cossard produces wine from only old vines. Fermentation continues 3-6 months with native yeast and aged in barrel(new and old) and foudre(large wooden vat) for 10-11months and in stainless tank for 3 months. Full of fruits - such as mature apple, pineapple, lemon - , rich and fresh. Grapes are from old vines(average 40-45 years) and the parcel is located between Puligny Montrachet and Chassagne Montrachet. Although this year's yield was also very low(it was only 25hl/ha) quality of wines are excellent. Maceracion goes in the wooden vat for 3 weeks and 16 days fermentation and 10 months ageing in barrel, then 3 months in stainless tank. Pure, clean, delicacy and finesse. 100% in Cossard style. Super pure, fresh lovely red fruits - cherry and strawberry on light weight body. This is their 5th vintage and the best ever. Chantereves switched to whole bunch fermentation for red wine from this year.
