Bourgogne Aligoté “Miarlons du Bas”

The vineyard - The lieu-dit “Miarlons du Bas” is located above “Les Monts de Fussey” and just below “Mainbey.” It is as old as “Mainbey” and the only old vine Aligoté of the domaine, on a steep slope. As the vines are old, though lower in altitude than “Mainbey” or “Bas des Ees,” the grapes don’t attain high alcohol at the peak of physiological ripeness. Therefore, though it was the last parcel that we picked in 2020, the alcohol marked slightly below 13%.

The farming is more or less identical to our other Hautes Côtes parcels.

The Wine - Nose : complex aromas of citrus and orange peel, yellow fruit, floral. Palate : dense, concentrated and long. Powerful yet doted with steely elegance. It is one of our favorite whites of the vintage and we look forward to seeing how it develops with age. (by Chanterêves)
