The new Chassorney by Aurélien Verdet, starting with the excellent 2022 vintage, is a wine with great aging potential. It is easy to imagine its future beauty. We could sense a subtle difference from Frédéric Cossard in the well-structured, authentic Bourgogne style that beautifully integrates the ripe, concentrated fruit. These wines are very promising and will likely evolve gracefull over time.

[Pommard 1er Cru Les Pézerolles]

Domaine de Chassorney Pommard 1er Cru Les Pézerolles 2022, which was remarkably good. This is also unusually seductive wine for the Pommard, completely different from the typical descriptions found in wine books (having a tannic and robust structure and taking time to reach its drinking peak...). Perhaps the 2022 vintage suits the characteristics of this appellation well. It has a thick, soft, and glossy texture. The tannins are certainly abundant but sweetly ripe. The aromas and flavors are complex yet harmoniously integrated. The terroir's characteristics and the vintage's personality are gently refined by Aurélien Verdet’s exceptional skill. It is delicious to drink now and clearly will improve with aging. This is a wine that should be placed at the high on the shopping list right away.

The wine produced from Pinot Noir vines over 80 years old, planted in clay soils, is dense and smooth. The vineyard is located near the border with Beaune, on the mid-slope.
